What formats can be version-controlled in the repository module?¶

Our granular revision control services are most useful for assets expressed in pre-formatted text such as HTML, XML and source code (e.g. C, C++, perl, php, R, asp, vbs, ruby, etc.). Files in binary and compressed formats will obtain only file-based revision control, but other services are equally useful.
